Natural gas patio heaters use infra-red burners that radiate warmth like the sun. Infra-red heat does not warm the air on your patio near the heater, but rather warms people and objects. These infra-red heaters are able to use the natural gas line that supplies the fuel to your natural gas grill on your deck or patio and the natural gas appliances inside your home. Features:
Patio heaters are typically 8 feet tall with a diameter of about 18 inches. The burner is mounted at the top of the heater and has a small umbrella-type reflector installed above it to direct the infra-red heat downward toward the patio. These heaters concentrate their warmth in roughly a 20-foot diameter area.

Patio heaters have two installation types from which to choose. The first is to have the unit mounted in a fixed location on the deck or patio using a steel gas line. This is the permanent mounting design. The second design has the patio heater getting its gas through a 15-foot long flexible appliance hose. This design allows you to move your heater to various places on the deck, rather than being rigidly mounted.
