Terry Murphy Receives State FFA Honorary Membership Degree Honorary membership is presented to individuals that have provided exceptional service to agriculture, agricultural education, or the FFA. Over the past several years, Murphy and Columbia Gas have provided support for PA FFA's unique State Legislative Leadership Conference (SLLC), which brings together over 400 FFA members and their Advisors to learn about the legislative process. "Columbia Gas is honored to support the FFA. I accept this honor on behalf of all of our employees that dedicate their time and talents to the communities that we serve," said Murphy. "The FFA has a rich history of improving the region and helping the next generation of leaders in this state and in this country and we're proud to be a part of it." Murphy's community leadership roles include serving as the current Chairman of the Board of Directors of the John Heinz Regional History Center in Pittsburgh, past Chairman of the Energy Association of Pennsylvania, Chairperson of the Pittsburgh 250 Commission, and a board member of the Pennsylvania Business Roundtable, and Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry. He also has served in a variety of positions with the American Gas Association, Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce, Maryland/DC Utilities Association, and Pittsburgh Regional Alliance. A native of Scranton,
PA, Murphy earned his bachelor's degree in English from the University
of Scranton. He currently resides in McMurray, PA, with his wife, Barbara,
and their four children.
