Since last summer, the companies have informed customers through local news media and bill inserts, of higher gas bills, offering conservation tips and information on financial assistance and payment options.In January, the companies combined to distribute "weatherization starter kits" to more than 12,000 limited-income customers and to customers who apply for their various assistance programs. They are being distributed through the mail, as well as through various community-based organizations with the Columbia service territory. In December, Columbia purchased more than 3,500 ad placements throughout its territories alerting customers of increased prices and offering ideas to help manage their higher energy bills. | |||||||
